  • 4th Grade STAR Writing Test
    Location: 4th Grade Classrooms

    The 4th grade STAR Writing Test is given to all 4th graders throughout the state of California. Students are given a prompt to write about and their writing is judged to see if it is advanced, proficient, basic or below basic according to California state writing standards. This is an important test, so please make sure students come to school well rested and nutritionally fed the morning of the test. As always, students are encouraged to do their very best.

  • 9:05 AM - 10:00 AM: Family Friday
    Location: Your child's classroom and the cafeteria

    Come to school and read with your child and/or Freese children for the first 20 minutes of the school day! Read in your child's classroom from 9:05 a.m. until 9:25 a.m. Then, join us in the cafeteria for refreshments, announcements and giveaways! Family Friday is a great way to show your support for literacy.

  • 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM: Principal's Chat
    Location: PD Room

    Come out and chat with Principal Alma Hills about matters of your choice. Chats usually start with Principal Hills giving some current news and then parents are invited to bring up topics of their choice. Refreshments are served. Spanish translation and childcare are available.

  • 9:15 AM - 9:45 AM: Awards Assembly
    Location: Primary Playground

    Freese students will be recognized for their accomplishments. Accomplishments might be around academics, athletics, attendance, effort in school and more. You'll know your child is being recognized when you receive an invitation to the assembly. The Freese Power Hour will run from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Awards Assembly days. In case of rain, there will be two Awards Assemblies held in the auditorium/cafeteria; Pre-K through 2nd grade at 9:15, and 3rd through 5th grade at 10:00 a.m.

  • 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM: SMT Meeting
    Location: PD Room

    School Management Team (SMT) Meeting - The School Management Team is Freese's governance group. It is composed of teachers, staff members and parents. The group monitors school happenings and advises the principal on decisions around teaching/learning and budget. SMT meetings are open to the public.

  • 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM: SSC Meeting
    Location: PD Room

    School Site Council (SSC) Meeting - The SSC oversees Title 1, and other designated funds. It is composed of parents, teachers, and staff members. The group approves the Site Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) and votes on Title 1 budget matters. SSC meetings are open to the public.

  • Spring Break Begins

    Spring Break will run March 29, 2010 through April 2, 2010. School will be closed for Spring Break. School will reopen on Monday, April 5, 2010.
