The Freese Library is open every morning from 8:30 until class starts for students and parents to come and use our resources. Students can get a pass at the main gate and come in to study, use the computers, or read. Parents are also welcome to come in and spend time with their children or check out books to use at home. Our resources include some bilingual books as well as some books on tape (along with tape recorders), for parents to check out. The library is open after school until 4:00 (except Tuesdays) for book check out and research.
Here are some helpful websites free for Freese students to use at home or on any internet connection: vmath: http://www.vmathlive.com Students in grades 1-5 have passwords that allow them to enter this website on any computer and practice their math skills against other real life "mathletes" who are online. Scholastic: http://www.scholastic.com Once you get to this website, you can use the book wizard to find out whether or not there is a Scholastic Reading Counts quiz on the book. You can also find out the book's level, number of words and points given for the quiz. Students can only take quizzes at school, but they can read books chosen from anywhere. There are a lot of educational things to do on this site, with links to even more interesting places. Don't hesitate to call Mrs. Daw or Mrs. Fulkerson if you have any questions about our library, or if you need assistance in accessing any of our resources. |
