In the 2009-10 school year, Freese will implement a new way of addressing learning issues that that are identified among our student population. Special Education team members, including Education Specialists, Instructional Aides, the School Psychologist, the Speech/Language Pathologist and more will work with students both inside and outside the classroom to provide optimum support. Parents of students with Individual Educational Programs (IEPs) have been informed about the new way of operating and are encouraged to work with school administration, their child’s teacher and the Special Education team to ensure optimal learning. We will also have 3 scheduled Special Education Advisory meetings in 2009-10 so that parents can collectively talk about and offer suggestions about Freese’s Special Education offerings. All meetings are public. The Special Education Advisory meetings are scheduled as follows: Thursday, October 1, 2009, 5:00 p.m. in the PD Room Thursday, January 7, 2010, 5:00 p.m. in the PD Room Thursday, March 11, 2010, 5:00 p.m. in the PD Room |
