Freese Power Hour
Freese Power HourFreese Power Hour places a strong focus on reading achievement for all Freese students.
In the 2009-2010 school year, the Freese Power Hour will run from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. daily. The Power Hour is a time where every student at Freese focuses on gaining reading skills that will help them improve reading achievement. During the Freese Power Hour, each student will participate in Small Group Instruction (SGI), as well as other reading activities that promote strengthening skills. Activities other than SGI might include Learning Centers, Lit Circles, Scholastic Reading Counts (SRC) quizzes, Independent Reading (IR), etc. The Freese Power Hour is designed as uninterrupted time. That means interruptions to this hour are not allowed unless there is an emergency. For the sake of stronger reading achievement at Freese, we ask that all staff, students, parents, and community members honor the Freese Power Hour!
